Why volunteer groups?

Oikocredit Support Associations are collectives of volunteers whose members are engaged in promoting Oikocredit’s mission. Volunteer associations are part of a long-standing tradition in Oikocredit’s work. In addition to being active volunteers for Oikocredit, Support Associations are members of the Oikocredit International cooperative.

Oikocredit has two Support Associations based in the US – the Western Pennsylvania Support Association and the Oikocredit Northwest Support Association based in Seattle. Click on the regions to learn more about how you can get involved in your local Support Association.

Oikocredit's Annual Report for 2016 is now online. The Annual Report provides an update on our operations and performance, including recent developments in our focus areas of inclusive finance, agriculture, renewable energy and Africa.

In 2016 Oikocredit surpassed the € 1 billion milestone in financing to its partner organizations, and continued to achieve growth in all of its four focus areas – particularly in renewable energy which saw growth of 150%. The Annual Report provides further details about these achievements as well as information about Oikocredit’s regional activities, the five-year key figures and consolidated financial statements.

As a worldwide cooperative and social investor, Oikocredit’s mission is to provide financial services and support to organizations to improve the quality of life of low-income earners and their communities in a sustainable way.
